Built by King Louis IX (Saint Louis) in 1248 to house the Crown of Thorns, Sainte-Chapelle's upper chapel features 15 towering stained glass windows measuring 15 meters high. The stone masonry dissolves into pure stained glass, surrounding the traveler with 1,113 scenes painted in cobalt blue and ruby red, converting raw solar rays into colored light alchemy.
