Rebuilt in 1955, the top two floors of Kinkaku-ji are covered in pure gold leaf (Haku), capped by a bronze Fenghuang Phoenix. The pavilion sits beside Kyoko-chi (Mirror Pond), reflecting the golden structure in pure water (As Above, So Below).
